How to Get Rid of Acne Scars
ByHow to get rid of acne scars and other scars are not so different after all with of course some exceptions like the dermabrasion strength and the techniques of chemical peel. There are four general methods in getting rid of the acne scars. These treatments for acne scars all depends on a very simple principle which is the removal of the scarred layer of our epidermis. In this way, the skin can replace naturally our skin with the smoother and newer skin. Thus, it removes any of the unwanted scarring despite of the cause of the scars.
So, before enlisting any of those four methods, we should know first on how to prevent severe acne from occurring. First, you should use a very mild soap when washing. If possible, use those with antibacterial formulas for at least twice a day. Next is to avoid eating oily and fatty foods. Last bust sure not the least, you should prevent yourself from squeezing and popping zits. Nevertheless, there are ways of popping those pimples but it is recommended to not do this because there is a big risk of infecting the part that causes those acne scars to arise.
Now, for the first acne scar treatment, there is the laser resurfacing. It is one of the most common and effective ways of getting rid acne scars. This is for people who have acne scars that are severe and is generally done by professional dermatologists. Normally, it takes 1 up to 2 weeks for acne scars to properly heal by using this kind of method.
Next is called the dermabrasion. The dermatologists use a metal brush or spinning blade with diamond surface to be able to scrape away the very top layer of the skin, thus removing the acne scars in the process. The healing time is much longer than laser resurfacing because sometimes it takes 2 to 3 weeks time to get the skin healed.
Third are the chemical peels. These are a much more of a mild approach to get rid of the acne scars. They are like using exfoliating scrubs at home yet chemical peels are much harsher and sophisticated. Applying it to the skin can remove more acne scarred skin layers. This kind of method is quite quick and easy and often done in the office of the dermatologist. There is an irritation that could persist for just a day but the healing time is much faster than the other methods that could take up weeks.
Lastly is the microdermabrasion. It is like the dermabrasion method but the skin removed is less. It takes up to several weeks to finish the treatment yet quite quick to heal just like the chemical peel.
